Terms of service

The terms of the arrangement.

Short, in plain language, and enforced with the same energy Randall brings to everything else. Last updated 2026-07-25.

1. What the service is

Randall is a commitment device. You file commitments, name contacts, and standing-instruct the service to report your misses to those contacts. Reports are sent at your instruction and on your behalf — you are the sender of record; Randall is the messenger with a clipboard.

2. Your contacts are people

You may only add contacts who know you and would reasonably expect to hear from you. Personally-addressed channels require the contact’s explicit acceptance before reports flow, and every message carries an opt-out. Using Randall to harass, spam, embarrass, or dogpile a third party — including adding someone precisely because your reports would annoy them — is prohibited and grounds for immediate account termination. Failing on purpose to generate messages at someone counts.

3. Acceptable use, the rest of it

  • No unlawful commitments, and no stakes notes that threaten anyone.
  • No probing, scraping, or interfering with the service.
  • One person per account; you are responsible for what happens under yours.
  • You must be at least 13.

4. The permanent record

The record is append-only by design: while your account exists, misses cannot be edited away, and deleting an armed commitment is itself recorded. Deleting your account deletes the record — permanence is a product feature, not a data-retention claim.

5. No warranty

The service is provided as-is. Randall aims to deliver every report and sweep every deadline on time, but delivery depends on email providers, webhooks, and other machinery outside his control. Do not use Randall as the only mechanism for anything with real-world consequences beyond embarrassment.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the last twelve months — currently zero. Consequences applied by your contacts upon reading a report are, by design, between you and them.

7. Termination

You can leave any time (Settings → Close the record — full deletion, see the privacy policy). Randall can terminate accounts that break these terms, with abuse of third parties handled the least patiently.

8. Changes and contact

Material changes to these terms are announced on the changelog before they take effect. Questions: jwo.agyekum@gmail.com.
